ON ORDER
Asics Gel-Tech Walker Neo's. My current Asics pair are running shoes and years old -- no doubt the cushioning is mostly gone by now. I keep them in my car trunk in case of The Big One. So I needed new shoes, a pair designed specifically for walking. (My running days are over.) The State of California has mandated Amazon start charging California residents sales tax as of midnight tonight, so yesterday I placed an order not only for walking shoes but other things too, like a hefty supply of water filters. Fortunate for me, Amazon's cost for my Asics beat out all other online sources.

As I noted weeks ago, these pro-health changes don't come without a monetary price. I have to reassure myself that I'm doing the right thing.
