ANOTHER "REMEMBER WHEN"
Remember when elasticized pants were so forgiving -- rendering us semi-delusional about our waist size? I'm finding out now that, somewhere along the line, that dubious anodyne flipped into its opposite. I have a new-old pair of bright orange, soft linen shorts, long and intentionally baggy, that I love (to wear at home alone, I should add). They have a 2" wide, snug, elasticized waist. So, envision a wide, taut rubber band around a marshmallow. Got it? Get the unforgiving, delusion-shattering nature of these elasticized shorts on me? But. I'm wearing them anyway, even now as I type. What's a little reality? I can handle it. Can't I? Besides, those love handles will continue to shrink, won't they?
