Calling all Sisters????? I have to post. Down a few more ounces. So, so slow. Must stay committed. I need a time goal. Suggestions? A milestone date? What? Help me?
Don't give up, Camille! I'm depending on you to walk this godforsaken path with me! Finn's "new" vet said something interesting to me last week. He was talking about the primitive survival mechanisms in animals and people. Almost a mind-body thing. Finn, for instance, has this continuing problem with "flow" -- doesn't poop every day and now he's throwing up every 10 days or so and has chronic nasal congestion, sneezing, snuffling...It's all connected, the vet said. So he gave a human example of people who can't lose weight, even on starvation diets. He said that they've found that the body needs to know it's okay to let the fat stores go. This is a more sophisticated approach, I think, of what we already know about metabolism slowing down when it experiences a weight-loss diet as starvation. So here's my woo-woo suggestion: talk to your body and tell it that it's safe and that it's okay to let go of the fat it's storing. And do this regularly for a while and see if anything changes. Let go, body. Let go. It's okay to let go.
